Prept. Foundation Inclusion Policy
1. Purpose of the Policy
Prept. Foundation is committed to creating an environment where every child, young adult and staff member feels valued, respected and supported. We believe diversity is a strength, and inclusion is essential to fulfilling out mission of providing equitable access to education, food and opportunity.
2. Scope of the Policy
This policy applies to:
- Children and young adults participating in our programmes, workshops and activities
- Staff, volunteers, and trustees who work with or represent Prept. Foundation.
3. Principles of Inclusion
Prept. Foundation is guided by the following principles:
- Equity of Access: Everyone has the right to take part in our programmes regardless of background, identity or circumstance.
- Respect and Dignity: Every individual will be treated with kindness and fairness, with zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment or bullying.
- Participation and Voice: Children, young adults and staff are encouraged to share their perspectives and contribute to shaping our programmes
- Adaptability: We will make reasonable adjustments to ensure that all participants can engage meaningfully
- Representation: We aim to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve across staff, volunteers and governance.
4. Our commitments
For children and young adults
- Provide safe, welcoming, and accessible learning spaces.
- Ensure materials, activities, and teaching approaches are inclusive of diverse learning styles, abilities and cultural backgrounds.
- Promote positive role models and celebrate diversity in all forms
- Listen actively to the voices of young people in programme development
For staff and volunteers:
- Foster a workplace culture built on respect, equity and belonging
- Provide training and development opportunities on inclusion, diversity and safeguarding
- Ensure recruitment and promotion processes are fair, transparent, and actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups
- Support flexible working and reasonable adjustments for health, disability, caring responsibilities, or other individual needs
5. Responsibilities
- Board of Trustees: Ensure oversight and accountability for this policy
- Senior Leadership: Embed inclusion across strategy, decision-making, and daily practice
- Staff and Volunteers: Uphold inclusive behaviours, challenge discrimination and model respect
- Children and young adults: Encouraged to treat each other with kindness, respect difference, and report concerns
6. Reporting and Support
Prept. Foundation takes all reports of discrimination, harassment, or exclusion seriously. Clear procedures will be in place for:
- Confidential reporting of incidents
- Prompt and fair investigation
- Appropriate action and support for those affected
7. Review
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and aligned with best practice. Feedback from children, young adults, and staff will inform updates.

We encourage and enable staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders to raise serious concerns within the charity rather than overlooking a problem. Please report those concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy Safeguarding Lead.
