Alun Sperring is a classically trained chef and co-founder of the acclaimed Brighton restaurant The Chilli Pickle, established in 2008 with his wife Dawn. With over 20 years of culinary experience across eight countries, Alun has spent the past 12 years immersed in the rich traditions of Indian cuisine.

The Chilli Pickle is a spin on regional Indian cuisine and it’s own melting pot of influences. Some dishes are close to their roots and some not so. Alun and Dawn also have a fondness for the Anglo Indian curry house and often have their take on some of the ubiquitous favourites.

The Chilli Pickle has earned numerous accolades—including a Michelin Bib Gourmand (2010–2022) and multiple wins at the British Curry Awards and National Restaurant Awards.
