Prept. Foundation Code of Conduct

  1. Purpose of the Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and standards of behaviour for all salaried staff and volunteer staff representing Prept. Foundation. It aims to maintain professionalism, ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, and uphold the values of the organisation.

  1. Responsibilities of Staff and Volunteers

All staff and volunteers must:

  • Represent Prept. Foundation: Always act in a way that reflects positively on the organisation, whether during school visits or other professional interactions.
  • Respect and Professionalism: Treat all children, young people, teachers, and colleagues with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Safety and Supervision:
  • Never be left alone with children; always remain within sight and supervision of teachers.
  • Follow the guidelines and instructions provided by the school and its teachers.
  • Carry a copy of your valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at all times when working with children and young people.
  • Engagement with Children: Maintain appropriate boundaries with children and young people, including:
  • Not giving gifts or personal items;
  • Not swapping personal contact information such as phone numbers;
  • Not taking photos or videos without explicit permission from parents or guardians.
  • Appropriate Language: Use language that is professional and respectful. Avoid any language that could be considered inappropriate, offensive, or harmful.
  • Smart Appearance: Dress professionally and appropriately for all engagements, ensuring you represent Prept. Foundation to the highest standard.
  • Punctuality: Arrive on time for all scheduled activities and engagements.
  • Commitment to Schools: Communicate effectively with schools throughout the year and honour your commitments to scheduled sessions or activities.
  • Communication: Keep open and clear communication with schools regarding schedules, expectations, and any concerns.
  • Social Media Usage:
  • Any posts related to Prept. Foundation activities must be signed off by the organisation before posting.
  • Ensure that any social media content aligns with the consent forms provided by parents or guardians.
  1. Compliance

Adhering to this Code of Conduct is mandatory for all staff and volunteers. Any breaches of this Code may result in:

  • A formal conversation for minor breaches.
  • Investigation for repeated or severe breaches.
  • Potential removal from your role within Prept. Foundation.

 

By adhering to this Code of Conduct, staff and volunteers help ensure that Prept. Foundation delivers a safe, professional, and positive experience for all children and young people we engage with.
